a J1-visa program

Agricultural Experience USA is an international exchange program that combines practical "hands-on" experience in agriculture with academic experience through the University of Minnesota.

Practical Training
Trainees will have the opportunity to experience a new culture through practical agricultural placements. They will be exposed to new technologies, skill-building experiences, and agricultural opportunities to further their knowledge and interests.

Study Opportunities
Trainees can enhance their practical experience with an affordable academic program through the University of Minnesota. Agricultural Exchange USA participants are encouraged to select one at time of application as part of their program experience. There are 2 types of study programs:
1) the University program; and
2) Short Course program.
Each program will have several options.
Students will also be attending the following:

- 40 hour practical artificial insemination course certified by National Association of Animal Breeders

- Minnesota Agro-growth Council Study Tour. This study tour focuses on a different area of the State of Minnesota. Through tours and lectures, participants will learn about the areas of agricultural and food production, processing and manufacturing, and the culture and economy of the region.

- Horticulture Short Course - Trainees attend the Ohio Florist's Association Short course in Columbus, Ohio. This four-day even offers hundreds of seminars about garden centers and growers, interior plants cape and outdoor landscape, retail management and marketing, and the environmental and pesticides.
